But in the decade since its release, its author Seth Holms hasn't produced another title. He wants to write a story with a happy ending, but every time his fingers clack across the keyboard, it always ends in his character's death. Worse yet? These tales of blood and barbarity that flow so freely from Seth's mind are starting to happen in real life. I will admit, this book would normally have been outside of my wheelhouse. The horror/thriller genre isn't my typical go-to, but there are always exceptions to the rule. In the case of You'll Do Bad Things, the miniseries offers a lot in the opening chapter that caught my attention, and that hook continued to pay off in the second issue (which Image kindly shared as well). I think it is always wise to try and step outside of your comfort zone every once in a while, and I can say that I'm glad I did so with this book. Now I need to know how this all plays out… Read Full Review

    ComicBook.com - David Harth Mar 26, 2025

You'll Do Bad Things #1 keeps you guessing from start to finish. There's a mystery at the center of this book, and it's one that is impossible unravel on the first read through. Boss knows how to hook readers. I want to know what happens next in this book and anyone else who reads it will, too. Turtulici's art works brilliantly for the book, its old school vibe never tipping the book's hand on what kind of story this will be. While it falls into some cliches writer's block, pushy agent, unfulfilled artist it's presents an intriguing enough mystery that will draw readers in. Read Full Review

    AIPT - Kieran O'Brien Mar 25, 2025

'You'll Do Bad Things' #1 is a great start to what will hopefully prove to be satisfyingly spooky miniseries. Some delectable art makes it stand out from the crowd, and it's backed by a unique, blood-soaked spin on a fun premise. It sets a fun, reality-bending tone that promises more thrills down the line. Horror fans will want to make sure they pick this one up. Read Full Review

You Don't Read Comics - Russ Bickerstaff Mar 28, 2025

The big challenge moving forward is going to lie in making certain that the story remains fresh as it progresses forward beyond the initial introductions. The basic premise for the series hasnt really hit as of the first issue, but it IS present in the promotional info on the mini-series on the Image Comics website and its not...its not terribly original as a premise, so its kind of an awkward situation. Its a promising opening, but the idea of a murder writer being the inspiration for actual murders is...a bit of a tired premise. Heres hoping Boss does something interesting with it.  Read Full Review
