Once again, The Power Fantasy revealed itself to be one of the most sophisticated stories to haunt the comics rack in recent years. It's an acquired taste, though. Cause it's just a lot of dialogue. And that doesn't necessarily engage the page all that well in a way that's truly unique to it. There's no reason why something like this couldn't be done on a small stage in some out-of-the-way theater. There's a kind of power on the page, though. Even though the visuals arent overwhelming fantastic. The best book being published right now. I can't wait until it's inevitably made into a TV show, hopefully it's given the budget and talent it deserves. It feels like the last page is the next page after the first page, it's that good.
It’s a shame that the power fantasy is not topping the charts and selling out. It’s is one of the most intriguing and smart comics on stands right now. It’s the best X-men story of the last five years and nobody is reading it. If you like superhero comics, you should check it.
