Justice League vs. Godzilla vs. Kong 2 #2 doubles down on everything that made the first volume work: high-stakes heroism, jaw-dropping creature battles, and rich crossover myth-building. But Buccellato smartly avoids repetition, instead delivering a story that feels more introspective and unpredictable. With Hollow Earth becoming the central stage, and Kongs mysterious transformation adding a new layer of danger, the series is evolving into something even more epic. Read Full Review
Fun, exciting crossover stuff as always. Read Full Review
Its still only the second issue of the short mini-series, so theres plenty of opportunity for Godzilla to return to the page and hang out for a bit before the final panel, but managing the balance in a series like this can be very, very difficult and Buccellato hasnt been doing a terribly good job of it. This is felt with particular intensity regarding the JLAs approach to Croc and Kong. Typically it would be really easy for Diana to subdue just about anything with the lasso, but shes not using it here because it wouldnt fit into Buccellatos pacing for the series. Shes no stranger to fighting big creatures. More so than any of the rest of the JLA...thats kind of her thing. Buccellatos script clearly begins to fall into the same issues that all big team books do; any one of these characters could handle the threats involved if it was their name alone in the title. If you're picking up Justice League vs. Godzilla vs. Kong 2 for high art, you're doing it wrong. This is monster mayhem with superhero spice. It's big, loud, messy, and worth it just to see Kong slap Killer Croc into next Tuesday. Read Full Review
Justice League vs. Godzilla vs. Kong 2 #2 will keep the reader entertained throughout with a great Kong battle and a clash of DC characters but doesnt pay out in terms of advancement until the very end. Read Full Review
Ultimately, Justice League vs. Godzilla vs. Kong #2 does its job as a superhero-kaiju crossover. I appreciate the editorial headache that these kinds of projects bring. Buccellato and Duce are able to bring both franchises to life in a mostly believable way, even if they don't do anything that new or groundbreaking with the material. Read Full Review
I really like the design for the Titan Killer Croc. Still would like to know if Waller is really dead. I like the trap Lex set for Superman, and that Wonder Woman took over the fight. Giganta rips the arms off the Batman Mech. A bunch of good stuff. Superman and Lex are fighting in the core, with the other Kongs approaching. It's cheesy, but fun.
