Theres so much going on in Justice League Red #3, that I think that the heroes and readers need a breather to stop and really hash things out. Im hoping that moment comes, because in order to truly save the world, these heroes have to get to know each other better, learn teamwork and strategy and be able to truly trust each other, especially Red Tornado. Power Girl has a much more emotional storyarc as Red Tornado manages to hack time itself to put her in touch briefly with her late parents on another Earth. This and another new addition to the team, Deadman, hint at a far more cosmic story one that ties into the current main DC story, and adds some big wrinkles once we discover Red Tornado's next target for this team to take on. Sometimes, simplicity and directness is more important than innovation or social relevance. Justice League Red #3 proves that as it takes a "back to basics approach despite having the burden of being linked to DC K.O. It doesn't try to be more than it should be and it succeeds. There's nothing wrong with being a fun, entertaining comic. Some great comic book runs are made up of a lot of these issues that are strung together over substantial periods of time. 7.5/10 but the limits of the DC Comics News rating system force me to go with a Read Full Review
Ahmed is working with a central dynamic that is a great deal of fun. The interaction between the heroes feels fresh and engaging. The uncertainty as to why it is that they're doing what they're doing is something that serves as a central mystery that continues to push everything forward, but one does get the feeling that even without that central mystery it's still a really cool dynamic between everyone on the team. And so it will still have its appeal even once the initial concern begins to evaporate. It could continue to be a really enjoyable subset of the justice league even after the initial concern concerns that formed it have been resolved. Read Full Review
