Justice League: Dark Tomorrow Special bridges the gap between "We Are Yesterday" and the upcoming DC K.O. event with a fun self-contained story about time travel, Omega Demons, and callbacks to Zero Hour and Crisis on Infinite Earths. Read Full Review
It's great to see some of the DCU's top cult heroes again, particularly Jonah Hex, and the ongoing subplot of Air Wave seeking redemption is very compelling. More of this crew after the next event, please. Read Full Review
As is the case with many specials, this is just the start, with the last page of the issue declaring, The story of The Legends continues in Justice League Unlimited and DC K.O.! and the Legion of Darkseid continues their assault in Superman #28! There are certainly some exciting takeaways from Justice League: Dark Tomorrow Special #1, with the big one being that Darkseid is somehow returning. Another is that Legend mentions that there may be an evil version of the Legion of Super Heroes behind what is happening. If the We Are Yesterday crossover did not catch the attention of readers, this special certainly will. Read Full Review

With We Are Yesterday causing a ripple effect in the DCU timelines, there were going to be problems. What it opened up has put an unlikely squad in the crossfire. Guggenheim and Waid set the stage for the new Legends with their writing. Tormey and the team go heavy on the action as the true danger emerges from the shadows. A solid set-up that hopefully leads to a larger payoff down the road. Read Full Review

Justice League: Dark Tomorrow Special is a decent one-shot that is an entry point for new readers but also more than enough to get long term readers excited. It folds in fun concepts of DC's past like the television series Legends of Tomorrow, working it into the current storyline. It's one to pick up if you're invested in DC's meta story or you want to dip your toes in to see what's going on. Read Full Review
Justice League Dark Tomorrow #1 is a decent one-shot as well as a stepping stone in the overall Absolute DC narrative. While we don't get to spend a lot of time with the characters, the lack of characterization in this issue doesn't hurt the plot. I just hope we get a proper reading order at some point because it is becoming difficult to keep track of which issue to read next. Read Full Review
Justice League: Dark Tomorrow Special #1 attempts to be an epic entry point to a new story but ends up feeling like an uninspired tie-in. It's a comic with a great look and an interesting premise that gets bogged down in a clunky plot, lackluster dialogue, and a frantic pace. There are much better places to start if you're looking for an entry point into the DC Universe. Read Full Review
