CATWOMAN TAKES ON TOKYO! Selina arrives in Tokyo looking for an old ally and a much-needed respite. Unfortunately for the feline fatale of crime, her enemies are already one step ahead of her. As she struggles to outwit them, Catwoman is offered a proposition: what if she were to completely disappear and give up being Selina Kyle forever?
This is one of the more low-key issues of the series, with action bursting out towards the end in a surprisingly violent way. It's intriguing, but I feel like this whole thing might play better in graphic novel format. Read Full Review
Catwoman #73 is definitely on the engaging side with the masterful artwork and well handled characterisation. At the same time, we have to wonder where the stakes are and what the connection is to the story they're building up. Going from the cosmic and deeply trippy storyline of Tini Howard's run to this tale of criminal mistaken identities leaves somewhat to be desired. Read Full Review
While Gronbekk and Ignazzi write a decent Catwoman sequence finally, the completely generic and painfully slow main plot continues to lack any real hooks for the reader to invest in. Read Full Review
I think a lot of my problems with this comic and run is that due to a combination of it being so generic and Selina acting detached from everything around her, I'm starting to wonder if this story could be told without Catwoman at all and would work just as well with a random secret agent or former criminal trying to put their past behind them. It might even work better because, unlike a new character, Selina has actual history, which hasn't come up in a meaningful manner throughout this run. Read Full Review
I gave it to the new storyline, but the new storyline is the same as the last storyline. It's just apparent that THorunn just doesn't understand Catwoman. No matter how long she's on this title it will never get any better. It's a shame that I can't collect Catwoman or Wonder Woman because their respective writers just don't understand the characters. This will be my last issue until a new writer comes in. And to think she's following up on the awful Tinit Howard.
