This first volume of *Speed Racer* by Mad Cave Studios reinvents the classic anime while maintaining its charm, family drama, and high-octane racing action. The art is fantastic and really gives the book the feel of a Western manga.
The few racing sequences are the highlight of the volume, with incredible acrobatics, clever tricks, and some unexpected twists. The over-the-top action works because these superhuman drivers are behind the wheel of equally outrageous cars. It's a fun reinterpretation that stays true to the spirit of the original while feeling fresh.
Of course, this volume mainly serves as an introduction to the classic characters in this modern reimagining. I'm hoping to see a lot more racing action, even craz more+ Like • Comment
