Our Take: Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow adds to the wealth of quality projects put out by Tom King that are worthy of a prominent place on your ever-limited shelf space. This story is an instant classic that helps Supergirl step out from the shadow of her famous cousin to reveal the depth and complexity of a truly 'bad ass' character capable of epitomizing truth, justice, and a better tomorrow. 9/10 Go here for the full review: https://www.comicsappreciationproject.com/supergirl-woman-of-tomorrow-review/

Easily Tom King is one of the best writers in DC Comics today and the editorial strategy of bringing stories that are not necessarily tied to decades of chronology, give to readers beautiful views of the most diverse authors and unique analyzes about long-established characters or some even not so well known. In Supergirl WOT, King explores with greater space and depth the life, history, traumas and dilemmas of the classic character without ever having to show his famous cousin. In addition to the beautiful dive into the character provided by King, the wonderful art by Bilquis Evelyn and colors by Matt Lopes is also a highlight and what a pride to know that these talents are Brazilians like me! It took me a long time to start reading SWOT more

This was another one that was a slow burn for me, but by the midpoint, I was hooked. As others have noted in individual issue reviews, chapter 6 was the highpoint of being personally invested in Kara's journey and purpose. King pulls off telling stories of characters so familiar but so different (i.e. Supergirl's attitude and language) that you are left wanting both the canonical world and King's world side-by-side. While it is good for diversity and presentation to see women writing women, this volume, I hope, is a sign of great things when King takes over the Wonder Woman run in the fall of 2023.
