Feb 08, 2018Mystere's magical adventures make her a character to watch. The flashbacks are delicious reveals of deviltry and deceit in the distant past that could carry an entire series on their own. Jan 03, 2018Grimm Fairy Tales: Dance of the Dead constantly evolves from what we initially thought of as a escape plan from the Shadowlands for Mary and Jasmine into what it is now – a background story for the protagonist Gruel. While it may have begun as an optimistic tale for the pair, with barrages of obstacles driven by the wizard and transitions into the past to divulge how he has become the madman he is now, it appears the true path for the story has become lost in favor of his own ambitions. If not for the inundation of flashbacks, this might be an interesting narrative, but splitting the focus of the story between two time periods waters down the impact and makes both lesser than a greater whole. If the tales could have been separated into individual titles they might have made a better impact, but for now, both are suffering … which is a great shame. Read Full Review
