  The Comic Addiction - Joe David Soliz

  This comic is off to an incredible start. It has all the markings of a great first issue. From interviews with Wood, it's obvious this is something he's let simmer in his mind for a long time. Just from this issue alone, you can tell this is a well thought out story that takes a group of characters Wood has stated he's very fond of, and puts them in a situation that will provide for an in-depth exploration of the characters. I can tell it's going to be quite a thought-provoking ride they’re going to take us on and I'm ready for the next stop! Read Full Review

  This is another strong debut for Wood, but at this point it's rare for the writer to have anything but. Both Wood and Isaacs manage to quickly leave me engrossed in a set of characters I had no interest in before now. Read Full Review

  In its time, DV8 broke away from the well worn superhero genre by challenging some of its most entrenched traditions. Brian Wood picks up that particular torch and runs with it. The story is compelling and Rebekah Isaacs's art is pitch perfect. It's one of my favorite new books in a while. I recommend giving it a try. Read Full Review

  "DV8: Gods and Monsters" #1 sets up the premise of the series well, but doesn't quite deliver on showing the characters interacting. However, the plot set up at the end of the issue suggests that the lack of confrontation between characters will be remedied sooner rather than later. Fans of the original series will no doubt enjoy this and it is new reader friendly for those that missed the original. Read Full Review
