But Why Tho? - LaNeysha Campbell
Jan 09, 2021The Promised Neverland, Volume 18, might be my favorite installation of the series to date. This volume has so many things that first intrigued me about the series. The dark and macabre art style, the amazing writing that highlights various themes, tells a captivating story. I can not recommend checking out this volume enough. As it concludes one arc, it also ushers in a new and slightly more challenging one that will leave you eager to pick up the next volume. Read Full Review

The Graphic Library - Sara Campbell
Sep 27, 2021Reading this volume, it is palpable that the end is near. The different factions are coming together, and it's fitting that the last stand is back at Grace Field House. Throughout this series, I've been thinking about (and Shirai has been reminding us) about all the kids that Emma left behind, so this arc is a chance to bring some closer to the whole story and to revisit and wrap up what happened with all the kids that Emma and Ray left behind. There are still plenty of answers left to be given, and two more volumes to get them all in. There does seem to be an uptick in the action since the end is so near, so this will fly in the face of several previous volumes where things were a bit slower than might have been completely necessary.
