Apr 02, 2020I honestly can't recommend Blue Flag Vol. 1 enough, especially for other hopeless romantics like. It is a refreshing take on the teenage love triangle trope. Mar 18, 2020I thought this was a great story for it being the typical love triangle frustration genre. Futaba is a very typical shy Japanese girl, and Taichi is the typical on-the-fringe Japanese boy. But somehow the stereotypes blend together pretty well to make a story that is easy to read. At the end of the day, I am driven by the connection I make with characters, and this volume got me caring about Futaba and Taichi. The art for this was detailed and easy to follow. Read Full Review

Apr 27, 2021This volume gets pretty heavy with a lot of conversation between the two sets of characters: Futaba and Taichi, and Masumi and Akiko. If you're a big Toma fan, you will probably be upset with how little he's in this volume, but if you're a Masumi fan, you're be delighted that she finally has some much-needed page-time. Both of these conversations - college/future and acceptance/happiness - are ones that lots of high school students are having and stressing over, and KAITO has some good advice for students and teens on both subjects.
