Waking Hours comes to a conclusion with a somewhat happy ending for Ruin, but I would not be surprised if the writer or another writer decides to pick at a few of the remaining threads. Especially given that Heather After has paid quite a high price for Ruins happiness. It's only a matter of time before that debt comes due. Read Full Review

An ending fit for Ruin, one where he finds being who is not being a bad thing. And finds acceptance from the person he wanted. It's just a bit bittersweet because no one knows where the characters will go now that the plot's over. For one Ruin will now have to deal with the struggle of maintaining a relationship and the faeries are left questioning where to go after the whole debacle. Even Heather and the Angel guy while seeming to get the endings they wanted might have to keep enduring the difficult labors. But you know, that's for the best. Life's not always about getting what you want, it's living with and accepting the uncertainties.

I didn't come here expecting a solid conclusion. I don't know why I didn't expect that. This was an exceptional ending. I think it worked very well. My only complaint, and really it's not so much a complaint as an observation, is that Ruin and Ben never kiss in this issue. Given DC's... reluctance in the past to show homosexual relationships and anything vaguely sexual related to those relationships - such as kissing - I found it kind of distracting that they never kiss, even though it seems very obviously set up for a kiss to happen. This is like Poison Ivy and Harley Quinn all over again. Let your gay characters kiss, you cowards.
