May 31, 2009"Northlanders" #17 is, at the end of the day, a very satisfying comic. It's not the sort of story you'd want to read every month, certainly, but Wood nicely confounds reader expectations with his "all fight" issue, giving it a level of depth and sociological examination that you might not expect to see.
