This comic isn't for everyone, and it's very clear as to what it is. Having said that, the series and issue is entertaining in its over the top nature that you can't take seriously. It'll be interesting to see where it all goes and if Kripke has something to say as the series progresses, but for now this is a series that has no issue going over the top tip-toeing the line with silly. And due to that, it finds it's sweet spot of entertaining. Read Full Review

Juxtaposed against such musing are images of Jaffe preforming ostensibly heroic deeds, placing himself in harms way as he hunts down gun-toting members of a cocaine cartel. The question such implicitly poses to the reader is whether Jaffe is a hero, narcissist, psychopath, or just plain stupid. Based on personal experience, Im guessing a bit of all of the above. Jacked is a psychedelic and hyper-violent reaction to a midlife crisis brought to you by the collective talent of Eric Kripke and John Higgins, aided by half of the Preacher art department. Its a throwback to classic action films of the 80's and 90's, and its a nonstop thrill ride worthy of an audience. Read Full Review
