Dec 22, 2010Minor quibble aside, this is another outstanding issue. Snyder is really growing rapidly as an episodic storyteller and the art is top-notch. I wish that Vertigo, Image, etc. could come out with more series like this because I could completely kick my superhero habit if all creator-driven/owned comics were this good. Read Full Review

Dec 22, 2010While the entire twentieth century is open for Snyder to play these characters against and through, the choices he makes in time and setting allow these characters to grow and breathe. Snyder avoids (what I would imagine is) the obvious temptation of having these characters appear Forrest Gump-like throughout the highlights of history, and puts the American Vampires exactly where and when they need to be to benefit the overall narrative. Since its launch, "American Vampire" has been a critical darling here at CBR, and my compatriots and I tend to agree that this is a book that you really should be reading. Read Full Review

Dec 24, 2010I enjoyed the duel storytelling style of this issue. I think the two characters really show exactly what makes them tick in this issue which helps to connect with them. Besides the character work the issue itself is an enjoyable read. This series is turning into something special as yet another arc starts out very strong.
