Harbinger #11

Khari Evans and Trevor Hairsine continue the new Valiant tradition of having more than one artist draw an issue. These two provide a fairly smooth experience, though. Whoever drew the first few pages " it looks like Hairsine " does the best work in the issue, but they also have the advantage of drawing the coolest scene of the book. Harbinger #11, like the issues before it, looks great, but it would be nice if Valiant would let a full issue be drawn by a single artist. Doesn't seem like too much to ask for. Read Full Review

This issue is kicking off a new story arc, but in general this series continues to have a much larger feel. I don’t get the impression that I do from other series that come from the “big two” where they really only have six months at the most planed. With Harbinger I literally get the impression that there are years of stories mapped out and planned and even if there are not, it’s very convincing. If you’ve yet to jump on this series you’re in luck as this is another perfect place to start. There’s a great recap at the beginning of the issue in case you want the backstory, but really you’d be fine either way. A great series and a great issue that does a whole hell of a lot more than simply tie into a crossover. Read Full Review

While the art and some of the plot may be a tad unspectacular, Dysart still manages to impress thanks to his incredible grip and focus on characterization, making us care about what happens to the renegades and in this title in general. Read Full Review

In "Harbinger" #11, the title gets back on track with its strengths. I hope that "The Harbinger Wars" crossover will allow readers to see the characters interact with the larger Valiant Universe, without sidelining the gravity-like idealism and character interactions that tie the Renegades together as a team.
