  There were a few problems with this one in my view. The plot didn't really advance much. We did learn that the shadowy villains are connected to Jack's past, but I'd been suspecting that for a while. In the same vein, when the evil killer is menacing Jack and Gwen, and Rex is staggering up the stairs to the rescue, I expected he'd shoot the killer just before he said something useful, and that's just what happened. While no one can kill anyone in this strange new world, Rex managed to shoot the killer square in the throat, so he can't talk. Mind you, he could still write, but I guess they didn't think of that.
