Nothing worse'n a Mathematician in love. As he died, in 1969, a Mathematician glimpsed the equation that drives the universe. This allowed him to strike a deal with the Divine Calculator: to be reincarnated - with all of his memories intact - for another chance with the woman he loves. In exchange, when he dies for a second time, he'll go straight into the workforce of the Afterlife, setting free another operative-a surly chap in a bowler hat by the name of Bastard Zane. But the Divine Calculator has a horrible sense of humor, and he's incarnated the Mathematician thirty years after his death, in a poverty pit on the other side of the planet. more

Fortress of Solitude - Byron Hendricks

Numbercruncher#2 is an entertaining adventure for mature readers, this story will conclude in its fourth issue and it has been promised that Thyme will continue to outwit The Divine Calculator by using his knowledge of the universe to his advantage. So look forward to seeing an even angrier Zane as he pursues his replacement through life, death, time and space. Read Full Review

Numbercruncher is a really, really strange book that quickly reminds me of something we'd see a place like Vertigo publish in the mid nineties. It's fun, it's weird, and it gets graphic when it has to. It's a miniseries, so I recommend waiting for the paperback collection coming out at the end of the year. Read Full Review
