Doctor Who: The Eighth Doctor #2 is another solid addition to this mini-series, with the one-shot tales being the best way to bring this iteration of the Time Lord back. George Mann's script is mostly self-contained, which is incredibly pleasing for the casual fan reader, but this story in particular could have used a few extra chapters to elongate the drama. Read Full Review

I want this book to be an essential purchase for the average fan out there, but it is not yet even an essential book for a Who fan who is not a total completist. Improving, but still lacks that magic spark. Maybe next time. Read Full Review

It could be better. I want the mystery to pull me along, have me chomping at the bit to see what happens next, but we're given very little of that. It's a one off story and the it's fine for what it is, but it's neither ground breaking nor informative of the Doctor or Josie's character or motivations. Completest fans of Doctor Who might want to pick it up, but everyone else could probably skip it and not miss much story wise. Read Full Review
