That's Not Current - Rachel Bellwoar
Sep 06, 2017Issue one stirs up tension from deceptively mundane activities and very little dialogue. Writer, Matthew Erman, lulls readers into thinking the comic isn't complicated because the scenes are very normal. Piper takes her dog out to poop. Piper feeds her dog. Piper checks her text messages while sitting on the toilet (and that one's the best, because how many comics take the time to acknowledge people go to the bathroom, too?) but you get to the end and realize you have to go back. Sep 13, 2017Despite the fact that the first issue of Long Lost lacks some much needed exposition of some kind, it does build very good suspense. It is also throughly immersive and emotionally resonating. If you are looking for a story that is gruesome yet beautiful, I recommend giving this a try. There is a good chance that this will be a hauntingly rewarding read once we have the full story. Four Stars! Read Full Review

Nov 25, 2017The two sisters are connected at the end of this issue along with a jaw-dropping final image. It's the kind of shot that serves as a perfect cliffhanger, as you'll be dying for more. Long Lost is a comic draped in a misleading normalcy that hides nothing but dread. It's a moody book that's filled with the closest thing the medium has to a jump scare. I throughly enjoy Matt's writing style, particularly when it comes to dialog. It feels natural and effortless which grounds the characters in reality as their world begins to distort around them. Lisa's beautiful artwork really sets this book apart from a lot of other indie titles. It's loose and kinetic while still being detailed and informative. Her ability to draw facial expressions and emotive postures make all the story beats hit hard and elicit real emotion. It's very exciting to see original content from two long time horror fans and I can't wait to see the next issue.

This was very disappointing. I was happy to see it finally hit Comixology and eagerly bought it after seeing all the good reviews on here, but I found it to be nothing special at all.

Maybe I'm alone here, but I took a shot at this after seeing the cover and I was disappointed. The art style inside may not be for most people, I personally thought it was okay and need some work and could use some more depth but was still acceptable especially for an indie comic. The main issue seems to be writing, not a lot happened here and for a $3.99 that's a problem. It was all build up to a revelation that honestly could have happened 3 or 4 pages in and it would have been better as the story could move on and not waste time. I can see the start of what could be a solid horror story and I could definitely see this improving as the story goes along, but based on this first issue I wouldn't give the 2nd issue a go and possibly wouldn't more
