Robbie Reynolds isn't just a genius; he's a super SUPER-genius! But he doesn't have the cash to fund his ultimate (and top secret) project. That's why he's opening a lemonade stand. Not just any lemonade stand: this one is state of the art, and his automatista can make you any flavor of lemonade your heart desires! Bacon, salsa, potato salad, dirty diaper-anything you want.

Unfortunately, Robbie isn't the only one in the lemonade hustle. Daphne Du-Ri, his new across-the-street neighbor, has her own setup going, and something about her lemonade is resonating with people in ways Robbie's can't. Before the week is over, Robbie and more

The Graphic Library - Sara Campbell

The first half of this story is really sweet and fun. There are some great humorous moments as Robbie gets more and more frustrated. Robbie is a good kid despite being an evil genius. He helps his mom out by giving her half of what he raises, all so that she can hopefully find a job she hates a little less, and get back to her plots to take over the world. Then, Daphne punches Robbie, and the science bits start to get a little crazy. Robbie finds himself sinking deeper into his subconscious, and he becomes attuned to Daphne's lemonade, and he has some epiphanies about binary and other, more complex codes. We finally get to see Robbie's super evil invention, and the entire concept of it is a little confusing to me. Nevertheless, the tidy ending will leave you with some warm fuzzies to go along with your head scratching. Read Full Review

But Why Tho? - Charles Hartford

    Jan 08, 2021

Lemonade Code is a book I cannot recommend to anyone. Even trying to look at it as a read for younger individuals does it no favors. As the protagonist is obnoxious and self-centered, with little to learn from. And there are much better young reader books out there. Read Full Review
