The double-sized debut issue of the new sci-fi-rom-com-dram-actioner from the writer of THE BUNKER and the artist of MY LITTLE PONY--wait, really? Okay. INVASION! Aliens are real. They're here, they're mean and they're standing in judgement over the citizens of Earth. Final countdown. Representing humanity (by some fluke) is your boy Jeff Steinberg. Romantically challenged idiot, video store clerk, constipated, confused, distractible. In other words, the planet is totally doomed. Also, robots!

Aug 01, 2016I've seen the “aliens come to judge Earth” story numerous times, but never quite like this version delivered by Fialkov & Fleecs. They want the person on Earth who is exerting the most willpower to represent the human race in their tests. Suffice to say, they don't end up with a Green Lantern candidate. The act of will that qualifies Steinberg is not Hal Jordan-esque. It's not something we'd see Guy Garnder doing. Maybe G'nort, but I don't think G'nort would need to exert the willpower Steinberg does to accomplish the task. It's low humor, to be sure, but I found it to be damn funny nonetheless. The F-Force ofFialkov & Fleecs are just getting started in this double sized opening issue. I'm looking forward to where the story takes us next, I'm betting it's going to be fabulously facetious fun! Read Full Review

Aug 02, 2016I didnt know what to expect going into this comic, but I came away a fan. Theres a ton of fun here, and if you can stomach some low-brow humor and a handful of obvious jokes that youve seen before, then theres a lot to love. Theres a great cast of characters placed in a fun plot, and while I have a few inklings on where this will eventually head, Im excited to ride that ride. Read Full Review

Aug 03, 2016The first issue of Jeff Steinberg: Champion of Earth is an entertaining read. While it does pull from a lot of familiar elements, overall, this book speaks to an older comic reader in ways most series don't. It's an issue that shows a couple of creators having fun and including the reader in said fun. Read Full Review

Aug 08, 2016This is a great comedic sci-fi series that is appropriate for fans of both genres. Jeff isn’t a man of many talents, so it’ll be interesting to see how he handles being Earth’s champion. Everyone thinks he is going to fail so far, so I’m really hoping the underdog (Jeff) can prove all the haters wrong. We’ll have to keep reading to see if he does! Read Full Review

Comic Bastards - Allen Wiggs
Aug 03, 2016The comic ends with 8 pages of President Obama talking to his military staff. Eventually the aliens interrupt and the leader of the aliens talks to the President. The entire sequence is super long and filled with super corny jokes. The jokes here are just cheesy president jokes. Showing how confident he is while also being a little inept. They are far from political at all, and besides references to specific events that happened during his Presidency and a chant of "Yes he can" it could literally be any random president. The whole entire thing is stupid and pointless, which sadly perfectly sums up this comic. Honestly the only funny thing about the last few pages is that about eight years ago it was a gigantically huge deal that comics had Obama in them. Do you remember the hype of him appearing in the back up of Amazing Spider-Man? Now? Eh, just really badly written stuff that will and should receive zero hype. Read Full Review
