    Comics Bulletin - Ray Tate

    Jun 24, 2005

Although I see a lot of potential in Grave Grrrls I still can't really get fully behind the title because there's still too much wanting. None of the Grave Grrrls interact with each other in any meaningful or even superficial way, nor do they interact with normal people. Normally I complain about a lack of action in comic books, but Grave Grrrls needs some quiet moments and/or repartee between characters. For example, Charlie's Angels is a massive, kickass action-packed movie, but the Angels behave as friends, talk to each other and have some fun together. The movie slows down the pace a bit to deepen each character and to show their humanity. It's in fact the depth of characterization that makes the sequel's subplot tantamount to the story. Grave Grrrls is filled with gory action but the characters need meat on the bones. Read Full Review
