Punishermax is off to a terrific start. Aaron has solidified himself as being his own unique Punisher writer. This comic builds up the arc very well and makes the next issue a "can't miss" comic book. Is it possible that Dillon ends up being paired with two different writers as forming a definitive version of the Punisher? Maybe, but we'll see. The series is off to a great start. I don't think anyone's ready to call Punisher MAX an industry godsend on par with Scalped or even Ennis's run on the title, but it is a spectacular comic so far, and issue #2 allows Jason Aaron to sculpt his inaugural villain in a way that lets readers commiserate with him while simultaneously fearing him. That, and all the people getting their brains blown out. I gotta admit, that was pretty cool too. Lots of violence, lots of gore, a bit of character development and even some boobs. All-in-all, thats not a bad issue of The Punisher. Read Full Review

I suppose Punisher should have more excess to really make it work. It couldn't hurt, though, to bring a little more depth to the Punisher's world. But until that happens, what we've got here is a brutal, graphically violent, renewal of Frank Castle's MAX existence. With Frank going all undead in the mainstream series, which I'm loving, by the way, it's nice to get some unadulterated Frank here, by a team that really knows what they're doing. Read Full Review

This is kinda epic Kingpin's story. Plus they show us, that Kingpin and Punisher are very similar, but so different at the same time... Interesting parallel.
