Now that this series is back on schedule I can go back to my gushing over it issue to issue. The Bullseye arc has been special. It may not be Ennis territory but Aaron is making his own mark on the Punisher Max series and is certainly establishing himself as a great re-inventor of characters like Bullseye and Fisk. This is the best $3.99 I have spent in a long time, it is pure fun, and I feel so guilty that I didn't give Jason Aaron the time to prove that he could take up the Punisher reins. The package as a whole is a bundle of entertainment, and I will be adding Punisher MAX to my pull list once I get up with my comic book guy, who is responsible for putting this in my hands. I was sort of surprised at how much I enjoyed this issue to be honest. Not sure why, since Jason Aaron has always been a great writer and Frank Castle has proven to be a fascinating character in the hands of a great writer. It really makes me regret the fact that I haven't been following his Punisher run more closely until this point, but I'm definitely on board now. Ennis' work on the character was so fantastic that it would be easy to think of all other Punisher writers as imitators, but Aaron seems to be carving out his own territory in the annals of Punisher history.
