• The Young Avengers versus "The Young Avengers". The stakes? What have you got?
•  Loki's scheme reaches its final twist. Expect the team's jaws to just hit the floor and lie there, twitching for the rest of the comic.
•  A tempting offer for Noh-Varr may get an arrow through his head. Other romance based drama too, as kissing is the new planetary extinction event.

One of the most subversive comic books is approaching a deadly conclusion. Gillen and McKelvie have poured their hearts out in making of this stellar book. Read Full Review

Honestly, "Young Avengers" is one of those books that came out at the right exact time. For me at least, I'm an 18 year old who recently moved to New York City, so a comic like this is one I definitely need. It is, without a doubt, the most real and honest interpretation of youth culture and I am heavyhearted to see it go, but glad to know it will not outgrow itself and outstay its welcome, transitioning into the stale adults it's been fighting against. To be fair, Gillen and McKelvie would also probably never allow that to happen on their watch. Read Full Review

Still, this one's a good read with wonderful pages where panels could be machine gun bullets or the negative space between jagged lightning bolts. The story's the same awesome young ambiance that talks about the young and tackles the issues of the young. It's sad that it'll be ending soon but looking at Young Avengers #12, I'm pretty sure Gillen and McKelvie will be ending it with a bang. Read Full Review

    Population Go - Chris Lemmerman

Is there anything left to say about this series that I haven't already said? Young Avengers is a superb series, and even though there are only three issues left, it's still not too late to jump on and ride this crazy-train to its conclusion. Whatever Gillen and McKelvie touch together seems to turn to gold, and this series isn't just gold leaf, it's 24 carat through and through. Read Full Review

And this issue benefits from the same playful quality that has been a hallmark of Young Avengers since Gillen and Jamie McKelvie started their run. There's humor galore, whether it's Noh-Varr reflecting on his unusual breeding or a brainwashed Captain America encouraging his young allies to look positively on the idea of existence crumbling into darkness and despair. McKelvie's art really shines in terms of the overall design, with some creative page layouts and a title page that mimics those music fan zines the two creators are so fond of. It's a shame this series will be wrapping up soon, because it definitely offers an original voice and sense of style in the Marvel Universe. Read Full Review

Comic Book Resources - Kelly Thompson

"Young Avengers" has consistently been a book to watch over the last year, breaking boundaries visually every month and telling wild dimension-hopping yet character-based adventure stories with excellence. News this month that "Young Avengers" will be ending in a few short issues is a disappointment, but assuming Gillen and McKelvie can end on the expected high-note, it will be a comfort to have this strong nearly perfect series immortalized forever. As things heat up in this all out brawl, the end is certainly in sight. While it means that it's one step closer to ending, I can't wait to get my hands on the next issue of 'Young Avengers'. Read Full Review
