Geeked Out Nation - Draven Katayama (loudlysilent)

This issue is engaging, funny, and promises a great story built around the teamwork and trust between these five X-Men. I am ecstatic that Marc Guggenheim, as he shared in an interview, is choosing to focus on Rachel as the “emotional throughline,” since I have often lamented at her taking the leadership backseat to Storm. Writing humor and interdependent team relationships seems to come naturally for Guggenheim. The dialogue never disappoints, and the art never lacks. I can't wait for the next issue. Read Full Review

    Comics Bulletin - Taffeta Darling

In short, X-Men #18 " which makes you wonder why this is one of the few book NOT being renumbered " has a lethal combination of daring sci-fi details, bizarro ideas and quips-in-space may ever-so-satisfyingly remind some of Grant Morrison's famed New X-Men. Your Dutchess will again keep her eyes on this run for a few issues, for the sake of being opened-minded. Read Full Review

"X-Men" #18 feels like the series is back on track, which is a real shame since Guggenheim's only signed on for four issues. Still, if he and Tolibao were enlisted to stay on board full time, that sure would be nice. Until then, just sit back and enjoy the ride. Read Full Review

    Comic Spectrum - Shawn Hoklas

Guggenheim and Tolibao are only on this title for four issues which is a shame since it looks as though they have a great feel for the material. This series can be tough for a new reader to get into, but Guggenheim is putting character exploration first and all the action and science fiction second. If you've been avoiding this series in the past, this may be a great time to jump on board as Guggenheim has proven to be one of the stronger writers in the business, and his characterization will help new readers gain a new appreciation for this all female team. The Latest Pull - Gunner Lahaise

    Aug 14, 2014

Pick this one up but it's not going to be your best read of the week. It's fun and entertaining, with some great one liners between the x-ladies. Ultimately, the story is a bit clich, but I have high hopes that Guggenheim will find his niche and deliver a solid story. Read Full Review
