Weekly Comic Book Review - Dean Stell

Eight issues in this series is shaping up to be a worthy member of the X-cast. I'm always complaining that they need fewer X-titles, but I can think of several that I'd eliminate before this one. Love that the X-Men are incorporating a Spidey story because I want the X-Men to be a bigger part of the overall Marvel U. Great art! Read Full Review

The story here has been great, and the art isnt too bad. This is easily my favorite X-title of the moment. Read Full Review

If not as ambitious in scope as "Curse of the Mutants," Gischler's second arc of X-Men is certainly more enjoyable. Major Spoilers - Rob Rasmussen

So, here comes a bit of a gripe fest for me. I am getting tired of writers completely misrepresenting online games. When we first meet the next victim his online friends are kicking him out of the party, by killing off his character. There is no MMO that will let you do this. Part of how MMO's work is that there is no permanent character death, the party trying to kill his character will result in just irking the kid off, maybe. Perhaps the writers should do a bit more research on this sort of thing. The other grip I have is the fact that Emma spends half of her lines attacking the kids being kidnapped, practically mocking them for being geeks and nerds. She specifically calls the people being persecuted for being different; you know the core concept behind X-Men, weak. The worst part happens when Peter agrees with her, saying "You're right, Miss Frost, they're weak and we're strong" and points out that he used to be that way. It feels like an attack straight at the reader. S Read Full Review

Comic Book Resources - Greg McElhatton

"X-Men" #8 is a great looking comic, but the fact that we're on chapter two of "To Serve and Protect" and it's already grinding to a halt is a bad sign. "X-Men" needs to pick up the pace, pronto. Read Full Review
