  I am loving the evolutionaries arc in the X-Men. It looks like Yost is expanding the X-Men mythos and pushing its roots millions of years farther back. Way, way cool story. Artwise, there's some to love and some to like, but on the balance, artistically positive. Read Full Review

  There are a few quibbles to be had with this issue. Yost depicts the younger Iceman as a bit needlessly boneheaded. The ending scene also throws much of the preceding conflict into question, as the reader has to question why the Evolutionaries bothered showing up on Utopia in the first place. But these complaints aside, "First to Last" is developing into a fun conflict that doesn't completely ignore this series' goal of integrating the X-Men with the rest of the Marvel Universe.   "X-Men" has been floundering. Certainly without Chris Bachalo's infectious bold sometimes insane art there's not much to excite in this title right now. The book deserves some more centered and compelling stories and a consistent ongoing creative team. Without it, this feels like an X-book lost, unsure of itself, and pointless in its purpose.
