Geeked Out Nation - Draven Katayama (loudlysilent)

    Apr 17, 2014

This issue gets a 9, for Wood's writing that reflects each character's personality, especially Psylocke, Jubilee, and Beast, and for masterfully drawn art by Mann and Briones, with vibrant colors by Mounts and Milla. This issue brought the light-heartedness and fun back into this title. Jubilee and Shogo return to the limelight, and the story has cliffhangers like a good mystery. If you've been waiting to try or retry this title, now is the time. Read Full Review

It's a solid character-building issue with a refreshing horror movie tone, capably assisted by Clay Mann's dark, fluid visuals. Read Full Review

    Comics Bulletin - Justin Giampaoli

Yet another obstacle (again, I'll blame Marvel Editorial) has been interruption of some of Wood's intended story throughlines by company crossover events. It feels now as if the title is getting back on track, sort of resetting Wood's original ideas while gearing up for another conflict, and in the process addressing things like Jubilee's vampirism, the true nature of Shogo, and John Sublime's relationship with Rachel and the rest of the team. I'm curious to see how these things resolve. Read Full Review

Holy nightcrawler's ghost, this was an intense issue. I can't say anything that won't spoil it, so I'll just say this....go get this issue. And also....vampire Jubilee is just awesome.

    The Human Cannibal

Not a bad issue. It is a 1 of 6, so there is some build up happening here. Some good drawings of the X-Ladies, I'm so glad there is an all female X squad! Overall, it is what I'd expect from a good first issue, and I'm anticipating part 2. Only drawback of this issue was the lack of any real action shots.

I struggle to like this series at all. Jubilee gets a text saying "The Future" is going to kill her for having his son. Yes, a text. This series is hard to like.
