  I know it's not a big deal, but I LOVE the old school cover! Everything about it says 1980s – of course the tell tale floating heads, the posing of the characters, the tag line – awesome. I'd love to have a giant poster of this issue's cover. As I always say, it's more of the same from Peter David – old plots are tied off while new threads are pulled. PAD does a great job of keeping us invested in the story while enjoying the action. I just wish X-Factor issues could be twice as long. Leonard Kirk and Matt Milla combine for some great images while the aforementioned cover by David Yardin is excellent. Read Full Review

  I'm continually in awe of Peter David's ability to sense when a story needs to tip in one direction or the other. Following an issue heavy with emotional gymnastics, this book is a welcome change of pace. It provides the catharsis needed to reset the plot for its next stage while remaining grounded in substance and meaning. Readers unfamiliar with upcoming characters will find this issue to be ahelpful introduction to the relevant historicalcircumstanceswhile longtime fans will enjoy the way in which events are teased.   First off, I liked the retro-ish cover... Yeah, that's neither here nor there, but there it is. As for this issue? I liked it. A lot. It focused almost solely on Star, which I'm just fine with. Yeah, there are like 50,000 characters on this team, but that doesn't mean we shouldn't get an issue here and there that only focuses on one character. I liked the battle between Star and Shot, and liked the way Star outsmarted his bigger and stronger opponent. All in all? Good stuff here. Read Full Review

  So aside from that one cool Mojoverse idea, this issue didn't really have anything going for it. And all of these vague hints about what's coming up down the line are starting to get boring. I'm far more interested in spending time with these characters in the here and now than I am in some big catastrophe awaiting them in the future. Read Full Review
