X-23: Deadly Regenesis #1 reintroduces the reader to Laura at a difficult time in her life and shows how she hopes to use her assassin skills to do good, while also introducing a new antagonist to challenge her. The issue effectively uses flashbacks to remind the reader of Lauras past and demonstrate how she and others are still affected by it. Read Full Review

As for the look of it, Edgar Salazar does a great job of emulating the feel of that specific era without it feeling dated or overly derivative, which does a lot of work to convince the reader theyve been transported back to this specific era. It seems the goal of this series is to make it so that, hypothetically, someone could read every Laura Kinney-focused comic in chronological order without it being too jarring, and on that level X-23: Deadly Regenesis succeeds. As for whether it not it transcends the flashback-y premise, that might remain to be seen. Read Full Review

I was so excited for this book and after the first issue I'm even more excited for the next one. This was a grand slam! I love all of the wolverine family and I'm absolutely loving it right now as both Logan and Laura have tremendous books.

This reminded me of the bland, functional stories that fill one-shot anthologies, but stretched out to miniseries length. Neither writer nor artist offers anything of any great interest here, unfortunately
