This series was a pity. Here, at the last minute, it introduces a compelling antagonist with an intriguing master plan. The book is about 30% villain monologue, and yet it's fascinating. And the art remains delightful to me (although there are points that need more clarity).
Comics Yelena versus a technocrat trying to replace artisanal assassins with AI trained on a Large Murder Model? That could have been brilliant.
Instead, we got Florence Pugh Yelena wasting most of the pages cosplaying as Kelly Thompson's Hawkeye.
It scratched my itch for that kind of comic at the beginning, and I'm embarrassed by how loud I purred. But at the end of the day, it's derivative and a waste of a good premise.

This book had reasonably good art, moments of charm, and themes that I personally enjoyed. But the handling of the characters ranged from underbaked to baffling and the jokes were not plentiful or strong enough to carry it. Ultimately, it came off as messy and insubstantial. I'm not opposed to a cute/funny book about Yelena, but this is not it.
