Minor complaints about the combat aside, this was definitely an improvement over the previous issue and a solid conclusion that manages to construct the groundwork for something much bigger and hopefully, more epic. Venom continues to be one of my favourite comics and one that I look forward to reading whenever it comes out. The Minimum Carnage crossover event with Scarlet Spider should be interesting- I have never read Scarlet Spider, so it will be my first time reading the character. That aside- I respect what Bunn has done with this character and the direction he is taking the series. I am happy to be along for the ride. Read Full Review

Minimum Carnage is up next and I've said before that I don't like Carnage but I can only hope that it comes along a lot better than the last time Flash fought a symbiote in Savage Six against Toxin which in the end made his journey to unknowingly claim the symbiote earlier in the year seem like a waste. Cullen Bunn has enough writing credits to prove that he's no slouch when it comes to telling a complex, innovative, and downright scary story. Just look at The Tooth or The Sixth Gun for proof. With such a stellar track record, it mystifies me as to why his debut arc on Venom feels like it's already running on empty. The main conflict at hand ends far too quickly and leaves far too much room for lengthy exposition. With the upcoming Minimum Carnage crossover, hopefully Bunn can refuel and deliver a story befitting Venom's most murderous kin. Read Full Review

So far, Cullen Bunn's first arc in 'Venom' has been quite a let down. I tried to give it a pass since I likened it to the mid-90s supernatural books but, after a couple of issues of this tripe, it's almost painful to read. Read Full Review

Coming from a HUGE Rick Remender Venom (and Spidey fan), Cullen Bunn's take on this title has been less than stellar. Far less. Hats off to you, sir, for attempting a new take on this character. However, demons, hell, magic, etc, have no place in a Flash Thompson world (Remender barely pulled it off with his similar arc). The past three issues have been all about hell, demons, etc, and it's a let-down. Bunn should have used this opportunity to create a Flash Thompson-centric world centered around him, Betty, and perhaps new "real world" characters; and Venom should be fighting twisted but very HUMAN villains. It's all a bit too unbelievable for me. Missing Remender.
