But it's not like Venom has not done all that before. What makes this issue so great are the two sub-contexts it is taking place under. First, the symbiote has a good reason to be downright livid. Secondly, Flash has been put through the grinder between his love life, Crime Master, and Jack O'Lantern. It is immensely gratifying to watch them get a chance to unleash their fury, turning what could have been a mindless romp into an adrenaline-pumping, emotionally-fueled brawl. When this series first started I was skeptical if a black ops Venom would work. Well, the black ops stuff has been pretty cool and we get just enough of Venom we all know and love where we are itching to come back every month for more. Read Full Review

Jumping on point?: You could pick this up and understand what's going on without any prior knowledge, but this issue is most effective in places where it delivers on the buildup from the many running themes. You'd probably comprehend it, but not fully appreciate it. Read Full Review
