If you like doing double takes when you read your comics, you won't be disappointed with this issue as it is full of surprises. It's an edge of your seat, awesome comic that really delves into both the physical and psychological battles these heroes have to face. It's fantastic. After last issue's tepid beginning, the story kicks into full gear, with an epic take down of X-force. Mystique vs. Fantomex, Wolverine and Nightcrawler vs. Omega Clan, Shadow King vs. Psylocke (I assume... I can't imagine that is actually Xavier, Angel and the deceased Jamie Braddock)... it's EPIC! Phil Noto maintains the realistic look of Uncanny X-Force that has made it stand out as the darkest title amongst the X-books. Even though Wolverine puffs up to the size of the Blob, there's a grotesque realism to it. Noto also scores a laugh without the help of dialog that, for all intents and purposes, should not be that darn funny. I don't want to spoil it, but it involves the new skinless villain and the reaction shot of a man watering his lawn. The shot only proves that Remender is up to his usual memory-staining imagery, and Noto is ready for the challenge. Read Full Review

Uncanny X-Force seems to be back in the right form. It's even making us feel sympathy for Apocalypse, considering he's in altruistic teenager form being ruthlessly mocked by the other students at Wolvie's school. The dark underbelly of the X-world is where it's at. Read Full Review

Still, the only reason torture works in these kind of books is if we like the characters. Just because Wolverine is awesome in Wolverine and the X-Men doesn't mean we can keep watching him get cancer-fied every six months without some sort of comeuppance. The pieces are starting to fall into place as the remainder 3 X-Force members are taken down quite easily by the Omegas while Psylocke fights the Shadow King and Mystique attacks Fantomex. Psylocke continues to fascinate me and she’s easily the most broken character in the series
