Unbelievable Gwenpool #22

It was nice to see Victor interact with one of his old Doombots and be open and honest with his creation. Iron Doom and his journey for redemption are honestly always great no matter where they seem to be. It was also wonderful getting a glimpse into Gwen's abilities and how she feels about being stuck in the 616 Universe and it still managed to find ways to be funny. Read Full Review

Gwenpool firmly earns its place on my pull list month in and month out. This issue like many in the series before it is a fun read providing action, laughs, and perfectly interesting storytelling remaining a must purchase for me each month.  I'm always eager to see what Hastings and company have up their sleeve next. Its really these meta quirks that make Gwenpool what it is. The actual plot is nothing too crazy where modern Marvel is concerned, because modern Marvel is crazy by default. Gwenpool is one of those books that keeps the zany, often silly tone of some of Marvels titles from being pushed into a new norm. If you like comedy with a deep metaphysical side, GWENPOOL #22 continues the complex mystery of where this character fits in the Marvel Universe, the short answer being not at all. Read Full Review

As skeptical as I may have initially been with this series, I can't get enough of it now that it's hitting its stride. Irene Strychalski's cartooning and Rachelle Rosenberg's vibrant coloring make this is a visual joy to read. Read Full Review

The Infamous Iron Doom rolls up to see what this pink woman is angry about. Clever exploration of Gwen's expanding powerset and some surprisingly awesome meta-commentary on Doom elevate this up into greatness. The conversation between Doom and his rogue Doombot is a digression from Gwen's story, but a totally fascinating one. Irene Strychalski's art is also pretty impressive; she handles the prosaic bits of setup and the head-warping medium manipulation with equal aplomb.

Cool watching Gwenpool play around with her powers and discover new ways of using them. I also really loved Gwen calling out the "obviously temporary" nature of Doom's good guy arc, that was hilarious and, as it turns out, spot on; just like we all knew it would be.
