I dug the dialouge but the art threw me for a loop. Looks like Galactus is sitting this one out!!!!

ULTIMATES2 #7: An unfortunate, forced fill-in issue. The series has, obviously, been put on hold while SECRET EMPIRE plays out. ULTIMATES2 will, likely, continue as planned when the tie-ins are over with. I'd wager that in re-reading ULTIMATES2, when all is said and done, it will read seamlessly if you skip these SECRET EMPIRE issues. All that said, Al Ewing makes the best of things this issue. It IS as well-written as ever. It is the high-quality of the writing and a nice cover that made my final score as high as it is. After all, the story is, mostly a reiteration of what we've, already, read about (several times) in SECRET EMPIRE (and elsewhere) and the low quality of the art needs no comment (in case you haven't seen it...it is
BAD). I don't normally knock somebody's artwork because I can't draw any better... except, in this case, I think I could. All said...this issue was a rare low for an otherwise great series.
SCORE: 5.4 more

It was pretty much at the same point of "The Ultimates" run about a year ago that "Civil War II" took over the events of the comic, after a great first arc, and it remained mired in that event until it finished its run at #12. Let's hope it doesn't last so long this time, because "Secret Empire" has invaded "Ultimates 2" and delivered a pretty underwhelming issue. It's basically Carol and her corp fighting the CHitauri, who all die when they hit the shield once they get past this defense force (so what's the point?). The art is raw and might be suited to an independent project or something, but it is pretty jarring (in the worst sense of the word) here. All in all, it's pretty depressing to see what was going on in this book sacrificed to f
ill in the blanks of the latest spectacle. Shitty. more

Art was as bad as it gets. Not just an a visual level, but on a common sense level too. Multiple panels where there are no stars in space. I rarely get frustrated at fictional characters but Carol is just so annoying here

Curse these useless crossover issues!

A quiet filler episode emphasizes that the Ultimates can't beat Stevil's energy shield and honorary teammate Galactus reminds them that they actually have bigger problems to worry about. This script - a giant shoulder-shrug at Secret Empire - was never going to be a world-beater. It's certainly not the place to launch Aud Koch's career as a Marvel artist. She seems overwhelmed by the volume of work and the need to match pre-existing character designs. The result is a sad, detail-lacking imitation of Moebius that is undeniably disappointing. Dan Brown lets the team down for once with flat color work that further saps this issue's visual appeal. The final result is an extremely skippable yawner.

Absolutely disgusting artwork. Worse than the garbage that started this run. Plus, the story is so bland. Such a terrible issue.
