Comics Bulletin - Bob Agamemnon
Oct 25, 2004The issues title, Jump The Shark, is a phrase indicating the moment at which a great television series finally runs out of steam and resorts to a preposterous stunt in order to reinvigorate itself (the shark in question was jumped by the Fonz in a late episode of Happy Days). Bendis and Bagley need not worry that they have passed their prime by Ultimate Spider-Man #67. In fact, this story bodes quite well for Bendis upcoming humorous What If book, WHA... HUH?, which promises to ask the questions that no one really cares about. Read Full Review

Comics Bulletin - Jason Cornwell
Nov 04, 2004Mark Bagley does a pretty good job when it comes to the delivery of the visual gags, from Spider-Man's failed attempt to flee the police, to Wolverine attempts at web-slinging. His delivery of the character's reactions is also worth a mention, as how can one not love the expression on Spider-Man's face as he spots Logan's rescue attempt, or Peter's body language as he expresses the idea that he's not a fan of the X-Men. Now some of the facial expressions are a bit rough, such as Jean Grey devilish expression when Logan identifies her as the person responsible, or Mary Jane's face when Peter claims he wasn't himself, but for the most part the art did an effective job of capturing the humour of the material. I do have to wonder about Brian Michael Bendis' physical appearance on the recap page though, as he looks to have performed a body swap with the Kingpin. Read Full Review
