  I really dig Marvel's Ultimate universe because writers have the tendency to do really bold things with their characters and plot lines. Creators take a lot more risks and as a reader, I am always left feeling surprised at the outcome of a story. This is yet another example of a really awesome comic book that will leave you with more questions than answers by the time you reach the final page. Exciting, beautifully illustrated and consistent pacing make this a must read for this week. Read Full Review

  While the story is a vast improvement, the art has stayed the same, which is not a terrible thing. Carlos Barberi creates a cast of energetic characters operating in some cool settings -- the floating city and a cargo ship out at sea -- which does well to convey the story, but his details are off. Jean's face looks inconsistent throughout the issue, and the intended flow of action from moment to moment is unclear. All in all, despite any misgivings, this title's quality seems to be on the rise. Read Full Review

  X-Man's Comic Blog - x-man75

  Well, there were a few interesting little things going on here. Unfortunately, I don't care about the SEAR, Celestial Cities, or Xorn/Zorn... So yeah, that definitely hurt my enjoyment of this one. If you liked the Ultimate Hawkeye mini-series from a few months ago, then this is a must read comic. If, like me, you weren't a big fan of that mini, then this issue probably isn't going to be very impressive to you. Read Full Review

  Comic Book Resources - James Hunt

  Ultimately (no pun intended) this is a reasonably good comic, but in context it falls a little flat. It feels like a chapter of a story continued next issue, but that's not how the structure of this book seems to be working. It's not really clear what Spencer's doing and there's a very real danger readers will lose patience with this book before he lets them know. Read Full Review

  I know that this is just one of those issues that I'll come back to and say "Well, in the grand scheme of things, maybe it wasn't that bad." But after a really exciting first arc that saw the return of the X-Men to the Ultimate Universe and then an even bigger reveal in the last issue than there was in this one, I was really gearing up for something big. It seems that we'll get something big eventually. For now, I'm quite averse to being swindled even if it is only for one issue. Read Full Review
