  THE ULTIMATES has become a fun book to read again. The past few arcs have been good, but they've been a bit too large scale. I love the fact this book has a smaller focus and that Hulk gets to smash it up here. I've never been the biggest Infinity Gems fan, but I love the explanation Fialkov givers here for their existence and it's something I'm looking forward to in future issues. The new creative team is very solid, even though I had a few small problems with details being lost on characters. While this may not be the best place for new readers to jump on, this is still a fantastic issue and I highly recommend picking this one up. Read Full Review

  Multiversity Comics - Zach Wilkerson

  Reviving the "Disassembled" moniker, made famous by Brian Bendis at the start of his groundbreaking "Avengers" run, is a ballsy move. Obviously, whether or not Fialkov's work on "Ultimates" will be as revolutionary or reinvigorating as Bendis' remains to be seen, but Fialkov has certainly set the stakes incredibly high. With the future of the Ultimate universe very much in flux, and a lack of strong character grounding, it's hard to get terribly invested. At the same time, the sense that anything can happen is a defining tribute of the Ultimate universe, and Fialkov's debut issue goes a long way towards making the "The Ultimates" relevant once more.   Also, despite this being a new creative team, it's not the easiest jumping on point for new or lapsed readers. There's a lot of information thrown at you about the Infinity Gems, but you are asked to swallow so much of it without proper development that not all of it sticks. Read Full Review

  I's possible this story will serve as an important step towards the bigger scheme of the Ultimate Universe ("HUNGER" as the promos proclaim) but more likely it's just biding time, filling the schedule until the Event arrives. Read Full Review

  The Ultimates #25 isn't the series's savior that I hoped it would be. I find it hard to believe that this is the same Fiakov that wrote I, Vampire, and Carmine Di Giandomenico's art doesn't suit the story at all. Read Full Review

  I used to really love The Ultimates, back before Ultimatium. Ever since it's been hard to wrap my head around. Ultimate Avengers was . . . Interesting I suppose until they went and did the whole vampire thing that was just silly. Now we're into this first true On-Going Ultimates series, and frankly it's been a mess from day one. Sure there have been some good stories, and great issues, but honestly it's so convoluted with it's own back story now, no body knows what's happening. Read Full Review
