    (Cover Date: July, 1987) Summary: (This story takes place during the events of Mephisto #4.) The Frost Giants witness the aftermath of Mephisto's confrontation with the Avengers & Thor's spirit. Loki summons the Destroyer to kill the Frost Giants, since they had tried to kill him previously. The Destroyer senses Thor's spirit & fights it on the mystic plane to make it his own. However, Thor prevails, takes over control of the Destroyer & dons the helmet's wings, belt & cape from his lifeless body.
