This is a great 25th anniversary issue as it reveals Squirrel Girl's youth in a way many will relate to, but also laugh along with. This book's biggest fault is solely because its mostly flashback. I know that's harsh but the writing is solid, as usual, and the art is as always beautiful. Overall, I can't recommend this series enough. If you haven't read The Unbeatable Squirrel Girl yet do yourself a favor and pick it up. Can't wait for #17! Read Full Review

For Squirrel Girl's 25th's Anniversary, it's Doreen Green's 20th birthday! Don't think about it too much, you'll get a headache. This issue is some nice fan-service, and carries a good message for kids, so you can't be too mad at it. There are a few references to the original Squirrel Girl from 1992 that might be missed by new readers, but I imagine they wouldn't confuse anyone too much. Read Full Review

I read this series as a trade but I still decided to buy and have this special issue.
Excellent, as always! Once again, the story is hilarious and Ryan North's notes beneath the pages are great. The issue is full of easter eggs, but my favorite of all is the "It's clobberin' time" clock! It's also very enjoyable to see Doreen through the ages, from her childhood to her 20th birthday. Will Murray's part is a nice addition, specially how he references the first apparition of the character. This issue is, for me, the best of this incredible series!
