May 30, 2011Well, I loved pretty much everything about this one. From the mystery of Thor's non-healing wound, to Odin acting weird, to the REAL Silver Surfer(not that horrible Greg Pak version) showing up at Asgard, to the impending Thor/Surfer, Thor/Galactus battles, I didn't have a single complaint. I only picked up the first issue of this series on a whim, and boy am I glad I did! I've NEVER been that interested in Thor, but if Matt Fraction keeps up the awesome work, he'll have converted me into a full-fledged Thor fan! Read Full Review

May 29, 2011The end of the issue is a strong one and, coupled with Coipel's art, helps make this issue a good one overall. Fraction's plotting and pacing aren't the best here, but he does write the characters well in the quiet moments, including a short and strong scene between Odin and Heimdall that shows a side of Odin that Fraction hasn't written yet. If this issue had been combined with the first in a larger debut, it would have been the right way to kick the series off; as it is, it's the end of the second issue and only now does the plot get going. This issue does what last issue couldn't by making Thor center stage while he took a backseat last issue. The Silver Surfer is great and although Fraction's dialogue makes it hard to read, the plot is intriguing and engaging
