    Outright Geekery - Gaumer

There is truly something special happening in Superior Iron Man, and this specialness is on full display in issue #3. Writer Tom Taylor does a great job of building off of already established concepts in the series, while building on that with entertaining facets that are only now beginning to shine. Artist Yildiray Cinar is getting better and better, and the risks he takes with style and design are exactly what this reviewer was asking for in his review of issue #1. I was a bit on the fence with this artist, but he's pushed me over the edge, and I cannot wait to see more. The true appeal of this issue is the feels. I just wasn't expecting the level of emotion that the Daredevil scene of this ish provided, and the surprise factor pushed things over the top. It's a perfect score. Read Full Review

Comic Vine - Tony 'G-Man' Guerrero

AVENGERS & X-MEN: AXIS may be ending this week but there's no sign of Tony Stark going back to his old ways. With a new outlook on life and the way he operates, Iron Man is immersed in a gray area between good and evil. We've seen characters straddle this line before but with Tom Taylor writing the story, we know we'll see different aspects of Tony Stark's personality come to the surface. This may not be the Iron Man we've all known but it it's a fascinating look at the character, flipped a little on the side. The art and color really shine here. It's an exciting time to be reading Iron Man once again. As much as I liked him before, we now have more of an unknown factor in the book. I have no idea where Tom Taylor is taking Iron Man and I can't wait to see what happens next. Read Full Review

Superior Iron Man #3 may be stretching a bit beyond it's skill-level, but it is at least stretching, and the art team is up to the challenge. Read Full Review

You know something's amiss when you have a series called "Superior Iron Man" and it seems more intersted in Matt Murdock than Tony Stark. Read Full Review

Stark's superiority complex is downright frightening as Taylor places some telling dialog darts in his mouth in this issue ("You are so beneath me" he tells Matt. "I can use you" to the Teen Abomination) and Cinar does some interesting work, using zooms on Tony to illustrate his state of scary megalomania, and POV shots with Matt that carry the sad tint of longing for things lost. The only negative is that the artist draws everyone too young (in one panel, Murdock looked about 14 years old!) However he shines when it comes to that armor.

After a slower issue #2, "Superior Iron Man" #3, apart from the horrendous cover, is a joy for Tony Stark fans and admirers (like myself). In this entry we assisted to three tremendous moments: Tony delirium of superiority, Teen Abomination being back and providing some neat action and emotional moments, and the heartbreaking encounter between Matt Murdock and his fellow Foggy Nelson, whom he managed to see after years of blindness for a few seconds. All of this plus a better pencilling make this one the best episode yet.
