Star Wars: Poe Dameron #9

A rescue mission has the book delving into a villain's past. A good read, which is inching up to The Force Awakens, and superior art. This will please Star Wars fans immensely. Read Full Review

The Star Wars Universe has been fertile ground for a crime saga with the prominent role of the Hutts in both the original Trilogy and sequels as well as the unproduced Sopranos-esque Star Wars Underworld TV show. Poe Dameron #9 definitely cashes in with its Godfather Part II story structure showing Terexs rise to prominence, and his moves in the modern day that is about to collide with Poes super secret mission. Throw in the usual spaceships and aliens, and its a play of genres that Star Wars has been known for ever since George Lucas decided to transpose Akira Kurosawas Hidden Fortress to and recreate World War II dogfights in space. At some point Marvel might want to change the name of this series. Poe Dameron might be the book's main protagonist, but Agent Terex is really its heart and soul. Read Full Review

The Villain

The backstory on Terex was very necessary at this point. Poe and 3P0 make a very interesting team and its cool to see how much Poe values C-3P0 consider how much he has been taken for granted by other characters in the film. I hope they keep him around for a few more issues.
