Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge #1

Give me more! I loved the new setting, new characters, and the inclusion of some classic faces involved in a job gone wrong. I want to learn more about this cast and would love to see more of this location. The visuals are highly detailed and Han and Chewie's portion of the tale looks great. This is how to debut a new Star Wars series. Reading this book will only increase fans' desire to go to the Disney theme parks. I was already excited, now I'm on fire. Read Full Review

Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge #1 is an interesting debut but on its own it's rather forgetable as is. Maybe as the series progresses there'll be more there to truly make it interesting but beyond new characters there's little to hook long time Star Wars fans or comic readers. Read Full Review

On balance this is an average first issue without a terribly interesting primary or secondary story. The new characters do look appealing however, and hopefully in the remainder of the series we see much more of them in order to fully flesh out the content of future issues. Read Full Review

Overall the issue introduces some really interesting threads and ideas that I can't wait to see explored more both here and elsewhere, but suffers because of an unengaging flashback story. I almost wish the series was set entirely in the present. Part of me suspects the flashbacks are here because they aren't ready to dedicate that much time to exploring Black Spire Outpost in this time period yet until after the park opens. Read Full Review

Don't really understand why this is called Galaxy's Edge. May be a better idea to set up the new characters that will be a part of the attraction rather than the classic characters. This comic is a fun and pretty traditional Star Wars adventure. I'm pretty happy with it.

The story is interesting, the artwork is decent and it is a traditional Star Wars story. However, it is similar to other stories told before. At least the comic isn't just an advertisement for the Disney Park, which is still exciting enough.
