Star Wars: Darth Vader #22

A stellar issue in every possible way. The justification for the design of Vader's castle is revealed and it's staggering. The story is incredible with Vader being monstrous and incredibly vulnerable by the conclusion. The art is magnificent, both in the past and the present. The colors are fantastic, keeping things dark without losing any of the details in the art. I can't ruin this book's ranking simply because the lettering continues to be disappointing, as it's been since the get-go. This is an absolute must-read, must-own book. Star Wars fans would be missing a major arc in the Dark Lord's saga if they let this issue escape them. Absolutely recommended. Read Full Review

There is an endless wealth of stories to tell prior to the prequels and I'm hopeful that things will start loosening up on that soon so that we can get beyond what we usually read about in terms of characters and settings. Charles Soule gets to do that in brief here to good effect as Momin's story is a familiar one to how the Sith operate but it delivers a look at a darkly disturbing operative. Read Full Review

I'm looking forward to seeing where the rest of this arc goes over the next few months. Momin is making some very interesting promises to Vader that he seems certain he can keep. Judging by the previews, the final issue of Tales from Vader's Castle from IDW will be featuring the Mustafarians attacking the castle in a story and the solicitations for the next issue of this series hint at the same thing, so maybe we can expect some connectivity between the two series. Sabe knows a secret about Vader. Vader is able to crush her at any moment. The two have goals that align and pasts that conflict. This could lead to and explosive climax. Read Full Review

Very ambitious and cool issue. Momin makes for a very interesting new character. The plot continues to thicken in this arc.
