The series arc wraps up very nicely. Vader has regained his leash. The Emperor has regained his pet. But the series is not over yet. Greg Pak will be back with next issue beginning Vaders part in the War Of the Bounty Hunters series crossover. This will undoubtedly have a lighter tone, which will be refreshing after this heavy, but very satisfying story arc. Read Full Review

A super start to a new story, with four new characters causing trouble for the Sith Lord. The story is full of plenty of action and some incredibly cool moments, and the visuals are gorgeous with their details and characterizations. This series continues to be one of Star Wars' strongest titles. Read Full Review

There's a lot of intriguing fleshing out elements going on here as we get Vader from a period that's being covered new in the reset expanded side and I'm thoroughly enjoying how it's building a lot of neat things together and drawing on the future works to establish more continuity pieces. This issue digs into some really good stuff and I love how the team made the bounty hunters come alive in a way that they wouldn't in most other books all while setting the stakes for what's to come. This issue contains two different action scenes that don't flow as clearly as they should. One of them would have been even harder to parse if not for the fact that it seems to mimic a key scene from The Last Jedi. In that sense, this is a rare misstep for the series. Read Full Review

It's a good start to a new story and continues to show the inner turmoil within, but this issue feels a little average, since nothing major takes place and Vader never feels under any danger, which is the hardest thing about this series, we are suppose to be rooting for him but realisticly I just want to see him as a full on evil Vader like we see him in Rogue One. In a clear example of mediocrity, Soule gives us the Vader story we really couldnt care less about. Some enjoyable parts, some nice dialogue, but nothing that made my jaw drop, that made me excited for the next issue. Still, its only the first issue in a new arc. Im willing to see where this will take me. Read Full Review
